Hard Knocks Fight Night was created by veteran fight promoter Jerry Thomas in 2007. Thomas and his company West Virginia Sports Promotions, Inc have been in the “Combative Sports” industry since 1977, having promoted nearly 1,000 event nights of MMA, Boxing, Kick Boxing and Toughman Contests.

Thomas' company also co-sponsors a gym, called the “Tommy Thomas Boxing Club”, that is located on Duff Ave in Clarksburg, where all fighters can train free of charge.
